Mrs. Natalia Falidea | Gerodontology | Best Researcher Award

Mrs. Natalia Falidea is an accomplished dentist and researcher specializing in gerodontology, geriatric syndromes, and the physiology of aging. She holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree and is currently pursuing a Master of Science (MSc) in Geriatric Syndromes and Physiology of Aging at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. Driven by a strong passion for improving elderly care, Mrs. Falidea serves as a Clinical and Research Associate in the Division of Gerodontology at the university’s Department of Prosthodontics. Her research primarily investigates the relationship between oral health indicators and physical frailty in community-dwelling older adults, aiming to enhance the understanding of how oral health impacts overall geriatric well-being. She has presented her findings at several prominent European conferences, including the European Geriatric Medicine Society (EuGMS) annual meetings and the PROGRAMMING CA 21122 Spring event, showcasing studies on factors like age and sex effects on bite force, oral function parameters, and the role of interprofessional education in older people care. In addition to her research contributions, Mrs. Falidea actively practices dentistry, working as a private dentist in Athens, Greece, while also holding roles as an associate dentist in a periodontal clinic and at the Athens Naval Hospital. Her clinical work spans general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and voluntary service, with a strong focus on delivering patient-centered care to diverse populations. Fluent in English and French and proficient in Microsoft Office, she holds memberships in the European College of Gerodontology, the Gerodontology Special Interest Group of EuGMS, and the Piraeus Dental Association. Mrs. Falidea is dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary collaboration in elderly healthcare, integrating rigorous academic research with hands-on clinical practice. Her ongoing work reflects a commitment to improving patient outcomes, advancing geriatric oral health knowledge, and contributing to innovations in the field.
