Dr. Meaad Zainelabdin Elbashir is an Associate Professor and Consultant in Radiology Technology at Jazan University, Saudi Arabia, with extensive academic, clinical, and research experience in diagnostic imaging. A Sudanese national, he holds a Ph.D. in Medical Diagnostic Ultrasound, an M.Sc. in Medical Diagnostic Ultrasound, and a B.Sc. in Diagnostic Radiography Technology. Dr. Elbashir’s expertise covers a wide range of imaging modalities, including abdominal, obstetrics and gynecology, Doppler, neonatal, elastography, and small parts ultrasound. He is also highly skilled in computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), image processing, texture analysis, and applied radiation protection. His research explores advanced diagnostic imaging, early cancer detection, molecular imaging, and magnetic resonance spectroscopy for brain and breast lesions. He has authored more than twenty peer-reviewed articles in leading journals, with notable contributions to breast imaging, brain lesion characterization, and the role of ultrasound in disease diagnosis. In addition to research, he actively contributes to professional training and development, having participated in and delivered more than fifteen workshops on radiology and diagnostic imaging. His work has been presented at major conferences, including those focused on radiology, breast cancer screening, and pediatric emergency care. Dr. Elbashir’s career includes both academic and clinical roles. He previously served as a Senior Ultrasound Specialist at a specialist hospital in Saudi Arabia and worked as a Diagnostic Radiology Specialist in Sudan. These experiences provided him with a strong foundation in clinical practice, complementing his academic and research achievements. Fluent in Arabic and English, he is licensed as a Consultant in Medical Ultrasound and a Senior Specialist in Radiology Technology. With strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, Dr. Elbashir remains committed to advancing diagnostic imaging education, research, and clinical practice to enhance patient care and outcomes.
