🎓 Education 

He is currently pursuing a PhD in Materials Science at IACS, Kolkata, focusing on electronic and magnetic structures of exotic oxides  he completed his M.Sc. in Physics with a specialization in Materials Science at IACS, Kolkata he earned his B.Sc. (Hons) in Physics from St. Paul’s Cathedral Mission College under the University of Calcutta he completed his Higher Secondary (WBCHSE) and Secondary (WBBSE) education from Kushbasan High School  his educational journey has been supported by prestigious fellowships and scholarships like DST-INSPIRE and Swami Vivekananda Scholarship .

💼 Experience 

He has hands-on experience in solid-state reactions, sol-gel, solvothermal synthesis, thin film preparation, and single-crystal growth using Optical Floating Zone Furnace  he has worked with PPMS, SQUID, TGA/DSC, UV-Vis, PL, TEM, and neutron/X-ray beamlines for comprehensive material analysis he served as Teaching Assistant in Materials Laboratory courses at IACS during 2021–2023  he contributed as Project Assistant in research on quantum spin liquids and Griffiths phases from 2022–2025 Biplab also has experience in polymer synthesis, optical and magnetic property measurement, and advanced spectroscopic analysis .

🏆 Awards and Honors 

He qualified CSIR-UGC NET and JEST (AIR-119) and received IACS Integrated PhD Fellowship (2018–2025) he received the DST-INSPIRE Scholarship for being in the top 1% in 10+2 won Best Poster Awards at Materials Science Day in 2023 and 2025 at IACS participated and presented in NPCM-2024 at BARC and NCES-2024 at SRM University  visited KEK Photon Factory, Japan for synchrotron experiments in 2022 actively engaged in training, symposiums, and international scientific outreach programmes.

His PhD research revolves around the electronic and magnetic structure of exotic oxides with Griffiths singularity and Non-Fermi Liquid behavior  he investigates structural, optical, magnetic, and electrical properties using XRD, SEM, TEM, SQUID, and synchrotron techniques  he explores quantum spin liquids, color-tunable luminescent materials, and rare-earth indates for future optoelectronic and magnetic applications his work bridges experimental solid-state chemistry with computational modeling, including EXAFS, XANES, μSR, and TDDFT analysis 🧮; he is particularly interested in tuning materials at the atomic level for high-performance applications in nanotechnology, energy, and quantum materials.
