Chen Yi-Chian completed his Doctorate (2000), Master’s (1996), and Bachelor’s (1994) degrees in Electrical Engineering at National Cheng Kung University. His academic journey provided a strong foundation in microwave technology, communications, and applied engineering. His research in microwave ceramics and antenna design began during his graduate studies, leading to pioneering work in millimeter-wave components. His education equipped him with expertise in both theoretical and practical aspects of electrical engineering, enabling him to contribute significantly to academia and industry. His doctoral research laid the groundwork for advanced wireless power transmission technologies, making him a leader in the field.
Experience
Since 2020, Chen Yi-Chian has been the Academic Vice President at Lunghwa University of Science and Technology. Previously, he served as Dean (2011-2020) and Department Chair (2008-2011) in the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. His academic career began as an Assistant Professor in 2005, progressing to Associate Professor in 2009 and Professor later. Before academia, he contributed to national defense training (2000-2005). His leadership has driven research excellence, accreditation achievements, and curriculum innovation. Chen also collaborates with industry, consulting for TXC Corporation and Shen Jia Electronics to advance microwave communication technologies.
