Dr. Ulises LeĆ³n Silva earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Science Faculty of Chemistry and Engineering at the Universidad AutĆ³noma del Estado de Morelos in June 2004. His academic achievements include an automatic qualification by average and approval with Honorable Mention. He proceeded to obtain a Master’s in Engineering and Applied Sciences with a specialization in Materials Technology from the Research Center in Engineering and Applied Sciences (CIICAp) at the same university, completing his degree in January 2007. His master’s thesis on the “Synthesis of polyaniline and poly(3-methylthiophene) for application in electrochromic devices” also earned him Honorable Mention. Continuing his academic journey, Dr. LeĆ³n Silva completed his Doctorate in Materials Sciences at the Center for Research in Advanced Materials (CIMAV) in February 2010. His doctoral research focused on the “Corrosion protection of 304 stainless steel based on poly(3-octylthiophene) coatings.”

Dr. LeĆ³n Silva’s professional career began with teaching assignments at UNINTER International University, where he instructed Mathematics I, II, IV, and Probability and Statistics from 2008 to 2009. Subsequently, he transitioned into a role as a researcher at the National Institute of Electricity and Clean Energy (INEEL) from January 2010 until May 2022. During his tenure at INEEL, he contributed significantly to technological development projects, focusing on polymer matrix compounds for the energy sector. His work also involved innovating in the diagnosis of the useful life of power transformers and electrical equipment.
