Professor KļaviÅÅ” holds a doctoral degree in history from the University of Latvia (1995). He completed his combined bachelor’s and master’s degree with honors from the same institution (1992). His academic journey includes doctoral studies at the University of Latvia (1992-1995) and higher education at the Faculty of History and Philosophy (1986-1992). He expanded his academic expertise through study programs at the University of Munich (1990-1991) and the University of Hamburg (1989-1990). Professor KļaviÅÅ” currently serves as Head of the Department of Asian Studies at the University of Latvia (2023āpresent) and Visiting Professor at South China Normal University (2025ā2027). His global academic roles include Visiting Professor at Pusan National University, South Korea (2019ā2020), Professor at Riga Technical University (2014ā2018), and Professor at Emirates College of Technology, UAE (2012ā2016).
