Dr. Pedro Ismael da Silva Junior holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Ribeirão Preto – USP (1979) and completed his Doctorate at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences-USP (2000). He currently serves as a Scientific Researcher (PqC-VI) and Manager at the Laboratory for Applied Toxinology at the Butantan Institute. Dr. da Silva specializes in Protein Chemistry, focusing on Biochemistry, with a research emphasis on bioactive molecules of toxins and hemolymph of invertebrates. His expertise includes liquid chromatography, peptide and organic molecule synthesis, mass spectrometry, and microbiology. He has published extensively and supervised numerous masters’ and doctoral theses in these areas.
