Dr. Karanpal Singh is a dedicated researcher in the field of sustainable energy engineering, currently pursuing advanced research as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. His research journey began with a strong passion for nanomaterials and energy storage technologies, which has steadily evolved toward the design and development of solid-state electrolytes for lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries. His work focuses on polymer composite electrolytes and interfacial engineering, with the aim of improving ionic conductivity, thermal stability, and electrochemical performance for next-generation energy storage systems. Over the course of his career, Dr. Singh has held significant academic and research positions, including Senior Project Scientist at IIT Kanpur and Adjunct Research Faculty at Chitkara University, where he contributed to impactful research on batteries and solar energy technologies. Earlier, he served as Assistant Professor at Quest Group of Colleges and Continental Group of Colleges under PTU, where he nurtured his expertise in electronics and communication engineering. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Electronics Engineering from Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, where his research focused on nanoparticle synthesis, thin film fabrication, and doping of transition metals for photovoltaic applications. His integrated Master’s studies at the same institution laid the foundation for his work in green synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles and their photocatalytic applications. Dr. Singh has contributed extensively to the scientific community with multiple high-impact publications on MXenes, metal-organic frameworks, nanostructures, and photocatalysis, alongside filed patents in the field of solid-state electrolytes for sodium-ion batteries. His professional skills span advanced laboratory synthesis techniques, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and diverse characterization tools including FESEM, XRD, and UV-Vis spectroscopy. Multilingual in English, Punjabi, and Hindi, Dr. Singh continues to drive innovation at the intersection of materials science, energy storage, and environmental sustainability.
