👨‍🏫Profile Summary

My professional journey unfolds with my current role as a Scientist-C at the India Meteorological Department, Ministry of Earth Science, New Delhi, a position I assumed in February 2021. Prior to this, I served as a Project Scientist-D at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune, and embarked on a transformative Post-Doc Research Scholar journey at North Carolina State University, NC, USA, from October 2015 to January 2019. My research roots extend back to my roles as Senior Research Scholar and Research Scholar at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune.

🌐 Professional Profiles

Embarking on an academic voyage, I earned my Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune, India. My doctoral thesis, “High-resolution NOX Emission Estimates for India,” stands as a testament to my commitment to unraveling the complexities of atmospheric phenomena. This journey was preceded by a Master’s in Earth Science System and Technology from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, and foundational degrees in Mathematics—M.Sc. from Utkal University, Odisha, and B.Sc. (Hons) from Fakir Mohan University, Odisha.

Passion Unveiled 🌍🔍

Delving into the intricate tapestry of atmospheric science, my research interests are multifaceted. From atmospheric chemistry and air quality modeling with data assimilation to the impact of air quality on human health and agricultural productivity, I navigate through diverse realms. The development of top-down emission inventories using inverse methods and the exploration of intercontinental transport of air pollutants fuel my passion for unraveling the mysteries of the atmosphere.

Awards Illuminating Excellence 🏆🌐

My contributions to atmospheric science have garnered significant recognition, including the prestigious Best PhD Thesis Award (2015) from the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune, India. The honor of receiving the Best Paper Award (2013) from the International Workshop on Change in Chemistry in Change in Climate (C4): Monsoon 2013 further underscores the impact of my research. The recent accolade for the Best Paper at the Indian Meteorological Society (IMS) Biennial Award (2023) adds another feather to my cap.

Technical Tapestry 🖥️💡

Navigating through the intricate landscape of programming, I am well-versed in languages like C/C++, Fortran, and Shell Scripting in Linux/Unix. My proficiency extends to utilizing software packages/tools such as Python, NCL, Grads, MATLAB, and geospatial tools like ERDAS, ARCGIS, and IDL. My expertise encompasses global/regional models like MM5, WRF, and CHIMERE, and I am adept at parallel programming libraries, including MPI and OpenMPI. Operating seamlessly across LINUX, WINDOWS, UNIX, and IBM AIX, I weave through the technological tapestry.

Global Collaboration Mosaic 🌐🤝

Collaborating with esteemed institutions globally, I have fostered partnerships with the Air Quality Forecasting Lab at North Carolina State University, the Atmospheric Chemistry Division at NCAR, the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI), and others. These collaborations enrich the global discourse on atmospheric science, bringing diverse perspectives to the forefront.
