Research Area 🔬

Dr. Huang focuses on understanding the pathogenic and immunological mechanisms between microorganisms (viruses, bacteria, and their toxin products) and their hosts. His primary areas of interest include: Immunobiology: Identifying and understanding novel immune cells and their marker molecules, analyzing big omics data to discover new molecules’ roles in innate and adaptive immunity regulation, designing innate immune regulatory circuits, and remodeling cellular pathways. Microbial Synthetic Biology: Involves the design, construction, metabolic regulation, and health reshaping mechanisms of engineered probiotics, large-scale transformation and reconstruction technology of microbial genomes, research and development of oral mucosal vaccines, and constructing new vaccine design and manufacturing technologies. Pathogenic and Innate Immune Mechanisms: Understanding the pathogenic and innate immune mechanisms of microbial infections, focusing on immune escape from viral infections, rapid rescue of animal viruses, developing engineering vaccines, and constructing predictive vaccinology theory platforms for anti-infection immunity.Dr. Huang’s work aims to elucidate the mechanisms underlying pathogen-host interactions, improve vaccine development, and develop strategies for disease control to enhance human and animal health.
