Dr. Hemalatha K is an accomplished mathematician and researcher specializing in theoretical seismology and wave propagation, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Center for Nonlinear Systems, Chennai Institute of Science and Technology, Tamil Nadu, India, since February 2025. She earned her Ph.D. in Mathematics (2024) from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, with her thesis titled “Theoretical Study of Elastic Wave Propagation in Anisotropic and Functionally Graded Layered Media.” Her academic foundation includes an M.Sc. in Mathematics with outstanding distinction from Bishop Heber College, Trichy and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Holy Cross College, Trichy.
