Dr. Gayatri Sahu earned her Ph.D. in Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya. She completed her M.Sc. (Ag.) from Visva-Bharati University in 2016 with distinction in Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry. She holds a B.Sc. (Ag.) Hons. degree from OUAT. Her foundational studies include HSC from CHSE Odisha and SSC from BSE Odisha. She undertook specialized coursework in soil microbiology, biochemistry, agrochemicals, and pollution management during UG, PG, and Ph.D. programs, laying a comprehensive academic foundation.
💼 Experience
Dr. Sahu has over 5 years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University since May 2019. She also gained valuable field and lab experience through ICAR-NIRJAFT’s trial project on agro-textiles and a 6-month rural agricultural program during her B.Sc. (Ag.) Hons. Her academic experience is complemented by active involvement in research, mentoring, and curriculum development. She has participated in 25+ webinars, 15+ seminars, and 8+ workshops on themes like sustainable agriculture, GIS, nutrient management, and biotechnology.

She explores organic carbon dynamics, conservation agriculture, climate-smart practices, and agro-environmental sustainability. Her studies involve nutrient budgeting, biofortification, silicon nutrition, fly ash application, and the effect of fluoride and pesticides on soil health. She emphasizes soil microbial activity and crop productivity under different management systems, especially in red and lateritic soils. Her multi-disciplinary work spans across long-term experiments, nano-nutrient applications, and soil carbon sequestration for climate resilience.
