Awards and Honors
Rusin earned the International Book of Records title for composing a paragraph in 16 languages. He received the Best Researcher Award at the 2019 International Quality Circle Symposium in India and launched South Asia’s first space construction book in partnership with the Russian House in Colombo in 2023. He initiated a long-running column series on Facilities Management in Vidusara, created Sri Lanka’s first virtual space city, and developed the country’s first AI-based video on FM awareness. His work has been featured in more than 30 national media platforms, including Daily News, Lankadeepa, and Sunday Observer, and on TV stations like ITN and Sirasa. Rusin authored national policy proposals such as “Patharanga,” submitted to the Sri Lankan President, and founded ECO Taprobane to support tree planting and environmental sustainability. He is an active member of international and local organizations such as SGAC, Leo Club, and Rotaract.
Research Focus
Rusin’s research interests span astronomy education, AI and IoT integration in Facilities Management, sustainable policy advocacy, and digital transformation. He explores astronomy outreach through weekly articles, virtual simulations, and multilingual books. His technical work improves FM operations through emerging technologies and raises public awareness. He advocates for green policies via CFPA and projects like ECO Taprobane. Through mobile apps, videos, and public speaking, he promotes science literacy. He also studies socio-economic change in the digital economy, particularly in sustainable urban infrastructure. His multilingual content enhances accessibility in global science education. He leads workshops for rural students on life skills and astronomy, explores environmental resilience in facility systems, and works to bridge innovation and public policy through collaboration with stakeholders. His commitment to communicating science through education, technology, and social impact is the core of his transformative vision.
