Dr. Asmita Mishra completed her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 2023, earning a CGPA of 8.86 and specializing in waste motor oil pyrolysis and sustainable fuel generation. She holds a Master of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from Jadavpur University, where she secured a first rank with a CGPA of 9.49 and received the University Gold Medal in 2018. Her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering was obtained from Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology Sarang in 2016, where she ranked third in her class with a CGPA of 8.74. She completed her 10+2 and 10th education at D.A.V. Public School, Burla, achieving 73% and 93.1% respectively. Her academic excellence was consistently recognized with state government scholarships, national-level competitive exam achievements like GATE, and research fellowships, establishing a strong academic foundation for her career in chemical engineering and sustainability research.

Dr. Asmita Mishra is currently employed as Assistant Professor (Senior) at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, where she has been teaching undergraduate courses and guiding students in Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering since April 2025. Before this, she served as Assistant Professor (Contractual) at Parala Maharaja Engineering College, Berhampur, from February 2024 to February 2025, and at Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla, from August 2023 to December 2023. Her roles included mentoring undergraduate students and supervising B.Tech projects. From January 2019 to January 2023, she was a Teaching Assistant at IIT Kharagpur, where she contributed to hazardous waste management, industrial pollution control, and laboratory instruction. Her academic experience spans curriculum delivery, practical lab design, research facilitation, and student mentoring. In 2024, she was granted an international travel grant by SERB to attend the ACS Fall Meeting in Denver, USA, and earlier received a travel grant to attend the AIChE Spring Meeting in Houston, USA in 2023. She has been an invited speaker at SOA Bhubaneswar and has received the MHRD Fellowship during her doctoral research. Dr. Mishra qualified the GATE examination in 2018 with a score of 512 and received the Odisha State Government’s Meritorious Scholarship during her undergraduate studies. In 2011, she secured second place in a state-level debate competition organized by the Odisha Environment Congress.
