Her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering was obtained from Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology Sarang in 2016, where she ranked third in her class with a CGPA of 8.74. Dr. Asmita Mishra is currently employed as Assistant Professor (Senior) at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, where she has been teaching undergraduate courses and guiding students in Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering since April 2025. Before this, she served as Assistant Professor (Contractual) at Parala Maharaja Engineering College, Berhampur, from February 2024 to February 2025, and at Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla, from August 2023 to December 2023. Her roles included mentoring undergraduate students and supervising B.Tech projects. From January 2019 to January 2023, she was a Teaching Assistant at IIT Kharagpur, where she contributed to hazardous waste management, industrial pollution control, and laboratory instruction.
