Dr. Xiang Chen is a Lecturer at Chongqing Three Gorges University in the School of Civil Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from Chongqing Jiaotong University and has a strong background in hydraulic engineering, concrete equipment development, and infrastructure material research. He has also contributed to research on bamboo-based concrete and subgrade pavement materials. He continued his studies with a Master’s degree in Road and Railway Engineering at Chongqing Jiaotong University (2018-2020), where he gained expertise in infrastructure and transportation systems. Driven by a passion for sustainable construction practices, Dr. Chen pursued a Doctorate in Transportation Engineering at the same university, completing his studies in 2024. His doctoral research focused on transportation engineering’s intersection with environmental material technology, particularly bamboo-based concrete, low-carbon materials, and concrete optimization. Throughout his educational career, Dr. Chen has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing environmental sustainability within the civil engineering sector, with his research contributing significantly to the field.

💼 Experience 

Dr. Xiang Chen’s professional career spans both industry and academia. After earning his Bachelor’s degree, he worked as a Hydraulic Engineering Designer at the Hydraulic Design Institute (2016-2018), where he contributed to hydraulic system designs for large-scale projects. In 2020, he began a part-time position as a Lecturer at Chongqing Vocational College of Architectural Engineering while pursuing his Master’s and Doctorate degrees. Since 2024, Dr. Chen has been serving as a full-time Lecturer at Chongqing Three Gorges University in the School of Civil Engineering. His teaching focuses on materials science, concrete technologies, and environmental sustainability in civil engineering. He is also deeply involved in research, particularly regarding bamboo aggregate concrete and low-carbon infrastructure materials.
