The study titledĀ ā€œImpact of Central Sensitization on Clinical and Functional Aspects of Psoriatic Arthritisā€Ā by Mehmet Nur Kaya et al. examines the prevalence of central sensitization (CS) in patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA). Conducted with 103 PsA patients, the research used the Central Sensitization Inventory (CSI) to assess CSā€™s influence on clinical and functional markers such as disease activity, sleep quality, depression, and anxiety. The study found that 65.1% of the patients had CS, with the Psoriasis Area Severity Index (PASI), General Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7), and Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) emerging as significant predictors of CS. Patients with CS demonstrated higher BMI and disease activity scores. The research highlights the importance of considering CS when assessing pain sensitivity in PsA patients. These findings underscore the potential impact of CS on clinical management, with implications for treatment strategies aimed at improving quality of life in PsA patients.

Ā Dr. BIVEK SINGH | Medical Education | Best Researcher Award

Ā Dr. Tongji University, China

šŸ‘©ā€šŸ”¬A dedicated and versatile medical professional with over 13 years of experience in academia, healthcare, and public health initiatives. As an academic coordinator and author, I’ve contributed significantly to medical education, publishing acclaimed books and coordinating academic activities for hundreds of students. My leadership roles in various organizations, including founding the Nepalese Doctors Lounge, reflect my commitment to community service and healthcare advocacy. With expertise in neurology and a background in paramedicine, I’m passionate about research and providing accessible healthcare, evident through my publications, volunteer work, and establishment of a health clinic in Nepal.šŸŒŸ

Profile

scholar

šŸŽ“ Academic Journey & Contributions

Commencing my medical journey in 2009, I pursued academic excellence while embracing the role of a volunteer teacher for Bachelor’s students in Public Health and Nursing by 2010. This dedication led to the conceptualization of my first book for paramedics, “A Journey into the Human Body,” which received acclaim from the USA, Germany, and India upon its publication as a pilot version in 2013. After graduating in 2015, I embarked on a dynamic career, serving as an academic coordinator for South Asian Medical Students in India and China, thereby enhancing my educational impact.

In 2017, I authored the ‘Clinical Companion for Paramedics, First Edition,’ the only clinical book in Nepal providing rationales for 3000 questions, which became popular among health workers preparing for public service commission exams across levels 4 to 7. My commitment to lifelong learning took a significant leap forward in 2019 when I commenced a Neurology residency on a full scholarship provided by the Chinese government.

šŸŒŸ Qualities & Achievements

Rooted in hard work, discipline, innovation, and creativity, I have honed qualities that define my journey. As a dedicated learner of medical sciences, my interests have expanded to public health and healthcare services. Over the past 13 years, my contributions include over 12 newspaper articles, participation in six national television interviews, and leadership roles in three major organizations.

Demonstrating a commitment to service, I founded the Nepalese Doctors Lounge (NEDOL), the largest social media virtual forum for Nepalese doctors, which attracted 11,200 members in just 2.5 years. In times of crisis, I volunteered to support efforts against the swine flu, earthquake, and COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, my passion for research is evident from the more than 8 articles I’ve published in international journals, six of which were published in 2023 alone.

šŸ„ Contributions to Healthcare

In a bid to provide accessible healthcare during the pandemic, I also established a health clinic in eastern Nepal offering affordable services and free diabetic screening to the local populace. This narrative, though brief, encapsulates a journey marked by consistent dedication and an unwavering commitment to the medical field and public health over the last 13 years.
